This is the 8th post in our Author of the Week series.



Charles de Lint was born in 1951 in the Netherlands but he immigrated to Canada when he was an infant.

He published his first and second novels in 1984 entitled The Riddle of the Wren and Moonwalk. Moonwalk became the best selling paperback in the Orb line which Charles de Lint published under.

This was followed by two novels the next year and before long Charles de Lint had written and published 65 books which earned him the respect as a master in his field.

Charles de Lint is known as one of many pioneers in the Urban fantasy genre and has stated that he hopes his books will help people see the many special things that there are in the real world.

Modern Library chose 8 of Charles de Lint's books when creating their list of the top 100 books of the twentieth century.

Outside of his writing for both children and adults, Charles de Lint is also an accomplished musician having been writing and performing for 25 years. He performs mostly Celtic music with his wife.
